The 27-metre-high dome in the National Museum of Singapore, along with the main building, was erected in 1887. Embellished with Victorian stained glass panels as well as floral and grid motifs, it is the focal point of the main entrance, especially when natural light streams into the open rotunda.
Porcelain is a medium where colour variation is a natural occurring feature of reactive, speckled, matte and cobalt-blue glazed finishing. Irregularities in glaze and texture should be celebrated as a mark of the artist's hand. Therefore, each piece is unique and has a handcrafted element to it.
