Supermama is pleased to partner Lester Lim, a multi-disciplinary Singaporean contemporary artist to launch his inaugural JELILO Porcelain collection. Lester Lim together with his wife founded Gagatree in 2003, a creative focused on designing unique products with an Asian touch. Gagatree collectibles are available in shops and museums around the world including New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Inspired by the cultures of iconic pop nostalgic objects and comic characters reference, he explores these icons into his art practices.
Porcelain is a medium where colour variation is a natural occurring feature of reactive, speckled, matte and cobalt-blue glazed finishing. Irregularities in glaze and texture should be celebrated as a mark of the artist's hand. Therefore, each piece is unique and has a handcrafted element to it.
