"If you find something good in a Japanese secondhand utensils shop, you have to buy it immediately, because if you go back the next day, it will be gone."
- Bernard Leach (1887-1979)
In our travels to the different prefectures in Japan for our collaborative work with craftsmen, we chanced upon many objects that are seemingly insignificant and easily overlooked, yet harness unexplainable qualities that so profoundly tugged our hearts. Some are failed prototypes, some are dead stock production from a distant era and many with unknown origins.
Here, we'd like to present our collection of "Unknown Objects", a gallery of objects we collected and acquired for their innate beauty. We decided to put some of these pieces up for sale to share with you the qualities that so inspired us in our journey as an independent store.
