TAISEI SHIKI or SIKIGU (which translates to'Paper-Tools' in Japanese) is a brand that designs products made from paper. TAISEI SHIKI considers paper as a part of our daily lives and seek to define a “new daily necessity” in the development of the next generation of paper craft. The Pleats Tray is one such product. Using a technique called “half-cut”, a thin line is scored along the folds of the tray to create a sharp but sturdy structure that holds objects around the everyday table scape. Founded in 1919, the Osaka-based company possessed paper processing technologies, know-how, and a broad regional network that has been cultivated over the past 100 years.
