Fukuroya Towel & Co., Ltd. creates towels dyed from vegetables, brewed wine, craft beer and matcha made in the Osaka area. The company uses raw materials that are no longer needed (such as poorly shaped vegetables, or discarded ingredients after brewing) to dye its fabric.
The company was founded in 1926 however in 1965, the factory was burnt down. It was also during the most difficult period that Fukuroya Towel secured 20 of the latest jacquard looms (a type of weaving tool/ machine) and developed expertise in creating woven towel jacquard. These techniques became the basis of their crafts.
