NINSHU produces handmade Kyo-ware (or Omuro-ware), a pottery style unique to Kyoto Prefecture. As a purveyor to the world heritage Ninna-ji Temple in Kyoto, the kiln is one of the few privileged ones to be able to adopt the same Imperial Chrysanthemum emblem as the temple. The Ninshu Cup is a signature piece of Kyo-ware where every piece is individually handmade, glazed with an array of minerals distinct to the kiln.
