SHIRO AO refers to “White” and “Blue” in Japanese is a project that explores the potential of  Iyoto, a high-quality whetstone found in the region of Tobe City, Ehime Prefecture. Also known as Tobe-yaki, a porcelain ware has a rich history of more than 280 years old. The Kurawanka  Bowl is an everyday vessel that fits into the lifestyle of modern living. The beautiful indigo coloured Kuresu that colours the bowl is a cobalt pigment which develops into a rich indigo shade upon firing.
