The dark violet gradation which resembles the mountain ridges and billowing sea of Miyagi was made by adding the local Tamamushi lacquer during the glass blowing process. Conceived by lacquerware manufacturer TOHOKU KOGEI (founded in 1933), the old glass speaks of the relentless pursuit to find the perfect balance between ornamentation and functionality.
