Ply One's Wares - Side Table

A side table made from poplar plywood and meranti. The sandblasted finish was done with Nieuwe Nostalgie, an Eindhoven-based secondhand furniture restoration company that employs those who are often excluded from the labour market. Wong has used meranti and poplar plywood to reflect his Singapore and Dutch roots. The barrel-like form is reminiscent of the rice barrels found in his family home.
