Artistic Stratum_Patch_G4/1RWB series - Artistic Stratum 1

The work explores the paradox of visual softness and material rigidity through a multi-layered paper-clay technique. Each stratum, resembling fabric or painterly brushstrokes, is composed of fired clay, subverting  expectations of texture and medium. Guided by themes of accumulation, construction and memory, the piece evokes the feel of architectural ruins or woven landscapes, in turn questioning the boundaries between painting, sculpture and craft.
