Resist Slip Casting - 9pcs Tile collection

A series of intricately textured ceramic trays made using resist slip-casting. This technique involves applying water-resistant stickers to a plaster mould, disrupting how the mould absorbs water and altering how clay settles during casting. Together with pattern-making techniques developed by Jared Lim, the result is a textured ceramic surface shaped by the pattern and placement of the resist. Resist slip-casting reimagines the mould as a programmable, reusable surface that can produce varied outcomes from a single form. The cast objects are further glazed with materials recovered from glass waste collected in restaurants, using recipes developed by Ang.
